Scope :
What is the state-of-the-art in biometric research and market? What are the specific challenges and market needs in developing countries like North African countries? How to facilitate the interaction between researchers from all over the word to identify common and also local specific market needs in different countries?
This first Algerian summer school on biometrics ASSB’2010; organized by the Systems Architectures and Multimedia Laboratory of the center
for development of advanced technologies (CDTA) and the General Directorate for Scientific Research and Technological Development (DGRSDT), aims to address the above questions and provide clear and in-depth summary of the state-of-the-art research in biometrics. The lectures will be given by outstanding experts in the field, from both academia and industry, and will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of biomterics. The school is especially aimed to provide a stimulating space for young researchers and Ph.D. students, and also to provide a forum for people from government, commercial, and other institutions to hear and discuss the recent advances in the area of biometrics and related technologies. The participants will benefit from direct interaction and discussions with world leaders in biometrics.
The school will consist of lectures given by 10 outstanding experts in the field of biometrics, and poster sessions in which PhD students will present their work and discuss their research topics with internationally acknowledged researchers in the field as well as with peer PhD students.
