La m\u00e9thode implique la d\u00e9composition automatique de l&#8217;objet en une s\u00e9rie de couches \u00e9l\u00e9mentaires appel\u00e9es strates, dans lesquelles sont plac\u00e9s des inserts de localisation et des renforts. Chacune de ces couches est directement dans la plage et fabriqu\u00e9e par micro-usinage rapide, d\u00e9coupe au laser, pour la d\u00e9coupe au fil ou tout autre moyen de d\u00e9coupe de tous les mat\u00e9riaux de la planche.
