Team: Design and Implementation of Intelligent Machines (DIIM)

Team presentation

The DIIM team research is within the realm of Artificial Intelligence, mainly, Machine Learning Modeling and Applications. The members of this DIIM are interested in the design of new mathematical methods (algorithms) that make machines capable of (i) learning and improve their performance in specific tasks without being explicitly programmed and (ii) explaining their learning procedure. These algorithms invoke foundations from the fields of applied mathematics and topology. In addition to the theoretical development necessary for the advancement of science, the DIIM team participates fully in the socio-economic effort by offering intelligent platforms using computer tools and embedded systems.
