The motivation behind this paradigm shift is driven by the need of understanding the mechanisms of human intelligence and subsequently encode such intelligence in machines. However, it has been observed that the performance of DL models relies intensively on a massive quantity of labeled data. To mitigate the necessity of collecting large amounts of such data, the attention has shifted towards unsupervised learning paradigms. The objective of this webinar is twofold: (i) highlight the power and success of DL models within a global economy. We show how these models transform conventional approaches (tasks and activities) by bringing into being industry 4.0 in Oil and Gas companies, reshaping the interaction between a medical doctor and a patient via Health 5.0, predicting tumors morphology and performing an Intelligent Remote Sensing. (ii) pinpoint the limitation of DL models as a path that is far from achieving Artificial General Intelligence. In fact, it is well established that a human child makes sense of her environment gradually through experiences (a.k.a. learning by doing), without the need of gathering a large amount of data. Children acquire the abstract concept of object and develop an ability to generalize and infer.
